Typing numbers, formulas and negatives

Cells take plain numbers, arithmetic like =3*1400, percentages like 22%, and negatives in brackets.

  • Arithmetic: start with = and use + − × ÷, brackets and %. For example =3*1400 or =(1200+350)/2.
  • Negatives: type (1,400) the way accounts write it, or -1400.
  • Percentages: type 22% or 22 in rate cells.

Press Enter to save and move down, Tab to move right. Esc puts the cell back as it was. Every change saves on its own; the budget bar shows Saving… and then Saved.

Numbers follow your language: a comma or a point as the decimal mark, whichever your language uses.
