Snapshots and version history

A snapshot is a frozen copy of the whole budget. View, restore or duplicate any of them.

Choose ··· → Create Snapshot to save a named copy of the whole budget. Locking the bid and moving to Final create protected snapshots automatically.

Open ··· → Version history (or History in the views) to see every snapshot with its bid and actual totals. For each one you can:

  • View it, section by section.
  • Restore it. The budget's values go back to the snapshot; purchase orders, payroll and petty cash stay coded to their lines. A restore point of the current state is saved first, so nothing is lost. Restoring needs the bid unlocked.
  • Duplicate it into a new budget, leaving the current one unchanged.

History also lists the budget's Activity: who created, renamed, locked, shared, exported or restored it, and when.
